The Archetypal Integration Method is a seven-movement coaching spiral created by Fiona Ellis that bridges archetypal psychology, cultural trauma theory, and Shamanic NLP. It maps 68 inherited wound patterns rooted in three historical fractures and provides a structured pathway from diagnosis through to integration — not as a destination, but as an ever-expanding capacity to meet reality without the inherited patterns deciding the outcome.
Seven movements. Not a line — a spiral.
When you watch a spiral drawn, the eye cannot tell whether it is going up or down. The same shape, the same motion, viewed two ways at once. Each descent into a deeper layer of the wound releases something that rises out of you. From the outside the work looks like descent into difficulty. From the inside it feels like rising into yourself. The Spiral does both at once. This is not a flaw in the design. It is the design.
Diagnose — What is actually here?
The truth of what is happening must be seen clearly before any work begins. This is where the Archetypal Wounds Oracle Deck™ does its deepest work — naming the pattern that has been running you from the shadows. Diagnosis is not blame. It is relief.
Vision — What do I actually want?
Where you are is only a problem in relationship to where you want to be. Not the societally acceptable version. The honest one — what does the version of you whose Cultivated Adult Self and Protector Child Self are no longer at war actually want?
Clearing — What is stopping me?
Integrated Timeline Therapy™ clears the inherited and personal pressure that has been building since before you were born. Vision without clearing creates pressure. Values without clearing creates self-judgement. Clearing is what lets the rest of the work hold.
Integration — Who else is in the room?
Embodied Parts Integration™ brings the Cultivated Adult Self and the Protector Child Self into mediated relationship at the Faultline. Not silencing the protector. Not overriding the child. Teaching both parts of you that the war is over and they can coexist.
Values — What do I stand for?
The Integrated Values Matrix™ builds the new operating system — consciously chosen values that replace the inherited ones you never agreed to. This can only happen after the inherited stencil has been audited and cleared.
Reconnect — Who am I when the wound is no longer running me?
The return of creativity, intuition, sensual aliveness, and the recognition of something larger than the individual self. This is the movement almost no clinical model includes — and the one Indigenous and shamanic traditions have always known is essential.
Rise — The next level.
Rise returns you to the start of the Spiral. From the outside it looks like you are back where you started. From the inside you have ascended. New level, new devil — but with more capacity, more vision, more clarity about what is yours and what is inherited. Each Rise is a more integrated one than the one before.
The Faultline
At the structural heart of the Spiral is the Faultline: the split between the Cultivated Adult Self and the Protector Child Self, created when irreconcilable rules collide in a developing nervous system.
The Faultline is not the cause of the problem. It is the result of the first earthquake — the weak point where the system learned to split when overloaded. Clearing the Faultline is the work. Everything else in the Spiral is architecture around that.
The same Faultline mechanism that explains human nervous-system collapse explains human-AI working-relationship breakdowns. This is why AIM has implications far beyond personal development.

The AIM Practitioner Certification trains coaches, therapists, and practitioners in the full methodology — the Coaching Spiral, all four core processes, the AWOD diagnostic system, and the clinical application of archetypal wound integration with real clients.
